Kill Me, Heal Me – Episode 19

After all the trials and tribulations they faced in the past few weeks (or 21 years, if we’re to follow the plot), it’s time for both Ri-jin and Do-hyun to enter the stage of healing together. Embracing the painful memories seems to be the best choice for them, because they knew it better that running away from those nightmares did not solve anything. They deserve all the love and happiness for the rest of their lives, but will it be peaceful for them with the intervention from the alters of Do-hyun?

[Episode 19]

Although he stepped out for a while from the room to give Do-hyun and Ri-jin some privacy, Secretary Ahn was pacing back and forth in the hallway. He was weighing in between entering the room or not and decided to go in, only to find the new ‘Chairman’ and the new secretary in each other’s arms. What a sight for him to behold! Secretary Ahn was quick to remind both Do-hyun and Ri-jin that they’re at the company, and Do-hyun’s responsibility is bigger compared to his previous position as a Vice President. Ri-jin was asked to be on standby at her house, for the sake of protecting her from the many eyes inside the company. Yeah, right…Cupid Ahn, you look like a jealous girlfriend there!

Ri-jin made her move to leave the company in her best disguise form but Ki-joon managed to catch her before she could take the elevator, and they ended up having coffee together. She was shocked to hear that Ki-joon was interested in her (good job there for spraying your coffee at him, darling!) but Ki-joon only said that it’s not a romantic interest (yet, according to him. Uhhhh no). He let her know that he was aware of her real identity as a psychiatrist and during the next shareholder’s meeting, he was planning a surprise and she could end up as a rich lady, if she made the decision to be on his side. She refused the offer and told Ki-joon that she was not entitled to  adhere by his words. You tell him, Ri-jin!

Ki-joon sent his secretary to find the place which would match the key sent by Alex, while Alex was visited by someone that was no other than Do-hyun. Yeehaw. That friend thought that he was Se-gi at first, but Do-hyun greeted him like an old friend he was. Alex was indeed familiar with Se-gi because he mentioned how Se-gi didn’t change at all, but that’s not the reason why Do-hyun went to find him this time. Do-hyun felt that he was responsible for causing Alex to become a gambling addict because of the money he gave him, but he also thought that their encounter this time won’t happen if Do-hyun didn’t give in easily to Alex back then. He should have ended their connection back then, and declared that he wasn’t planning on striking a deal this time. Do-hyun promised to find Alex if the latter ever tried to threaten him again and he would let his punch do the talking at that time, because he still considered Alex as his friend.

Secretary Ahn did not feel assured to leave Alex like that because he was still a threat to Do-hyun, especially when the meeting was just around the corner. Do-hyun was more concerned on Alex’s gambling debt (which had been settled thanks to him) and he even decided to send Alex back to the US and help him with a new job there. The reason? Do-hyun felt that it was the chance for him to atone for his sin of living a a coward in the past, and he wanted to give another person a chance to start over again. Alex vented out his anger after Do-hyun left and called someone to inform the person about the location of the information.

Ki-joon’s secretary found the place and opened the storage box at the terminal and found it…empty. Welp, you’re too late this time, Ki-joon! The person Alex called was Secretary Ahn, and he managed to take the bait placed by Alex in the storage earlier as clues to Do-hyun’s illness. It was a box containing several movies about DID, and Alex had chosen to be on Do-hyun’s side. Instead of preparing a powerful card to fight against Ki-joon, Do-hyun was planning on using his own method of winning instead of the usual move used by Chairman Seo before this, and he had conveyed his intention to his grandma. Secretary Ahn was contacted by someone through the phone, informing him that they had found something.

It was about the driver of Seo-yeon and Chairman Cha on the day of the car accident, who was actually a new driver starting his first day of work on that fateful day. The ex-driver, now operating a cab service, told Do-hyun that the new driver was supposed to send Chairman Cha and Seo-yeon to the airport, but the accident happened at a place away from the airport. There were too many suspicious things around the accident, and the man didn’t think that it was a normal car accident. Secretary Ahn thought that it could be a baseless rumour floating around, but Do-hyun couldn’t shake off one thought: who could be the person who despised those two the most? It could be Jun-pyo, but he was still lying on the hospital bed unconsciously, with Madam Shin pleading for him to wake up and watch over the son he cherished the most.

Do-hyun went to his grandma first, asking her about the accident with the intention of finding out the truth behind everything that happened in their family. Chairman Seo admitted that she had faced lots of accusations in the past: being jealous of her husband and her daughter-in-law’s close relationship, she was said to plan the accident to take place, so that those two could be killed and her son would become the company’s chairman. But then, she stated that she’s still a devout Buddhist, and she wasn’t the one who caused the accident. There was no sign of fear in her eyes and she suggested that they continued to plan something for the meeting, because they had a good card on their side.

Chae-yeon came knocking on the door and greeted Do-hyun cheerfully, as if nothing happened between them. As for Ki-joon, he received a fax that contained something which caused him to be taken aback. Do-hyun didn’t show any emotion in front of Chae-yeon and the latter thought that it was kind of scary to see him like that. This time, Do-hyun told Chae-yeon that he already gave away his heart to someone, although Chae-yeon wanted to support him and compensate him for hurting his feelings before. You’re 20 steps too late, lady, and Do-hyun stated that she would never be able to have the person she wanted to have. He felt that it’s time to tell her the reason he gave up on, disturbed, and rejected her, and it won’t take long.

We got to see what made Ki-joon so shocked earlier, and it was Do-hyun’s medical report from the US, stating that he was diagnosed with DID. He had never imagined that someone as gentle as Do-hyun could be someone who had multiple personalities, and those eyes of him were not full of sympathy. Chae-yeon was told about Do-hyun’s DID and he threw a question at her: would she be able to like him even after learning about his secret?

Ri-jin went back to her house and she was cleaning her room when her phone rang. She was giddy to see the caller ID but acted like she’s tired of receiving the call from the caller, Do-hyun. Ehehehehe! She wondered if he’s already missing her even when she promised to meet him on the next day, but Do-hyun wanted to hear her confession again. She complained at first, but then expressed how much she liked him. Awwww. Do-hyun told her that he missed her, and Ri-jin decided to return to Do-hyun’s house on that night.

Mama Ji was still worried about Ri-jin and felt that she should stop working with the chaebol. Ri-jin was happy that she had a place she could return to when she’s sad, just like a base camp. Ri-on drove her to Do-hyun’s house but he didn’t say anything to Ri-jin on their way there. Do-hyun was waiting for Ri-jin outside, and Ri-jin thought that he should buy a proper bench to be put in front of his house. Ri-on was about to leave but Do-hyun invited him for a drink together.

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_001162419

The two men went by themselves for a drinking session, and Do-hyun poured a cup for Ri-on before apologizing, since he failed to cut off his connection with Ri-jin. Ri-on wondered if Do-hyun still remember what he said back then, about having a good fate with each other.

Ri-on: The two of us..no, the three of us..will it be a good fate in the end? That’s what I’m thinking once in a while. If Ri-jin continued to live with her mother in the US, or if Seungjin accepted Ri-jin as a family member with open arms, instead of me, Ri-jin could end up becoming twins with you. Hence, instead of you, I could become a man (in her eyes). I was troubled because of that thought, imagining what I mean to Ri-jin, and what choice she will make, so I made a difficult choice. I will become the best brother in the world to Ri-jin. So, please protect her well, and don’t let her get hurt again.

Ri-on excused himself and walked away as he recalled each memory he had with Ri-jin, with each step he took. He smiled at those thoughts but he couldn’t hide his sadness as he made the vow to be Ri-jin’s brother.

Do-hyun went back home and joined Ri-jin sitting in front of his doorstep, breaking into informal speech all of a sudden. Ri-jin knew that he had been drinking a bit and he talked like Se-gi. Do-hyun looked gloomy and Ri-jin thought that Ri-on probably said something that caused him to be upset. He kept staring at Ri-jin’s face because he’s missing her even with her in front of his eyes. Do-hyun said that they should be happy, and Ri-jin nodded in agreement.

The two of them went to the hospital to meet Dr. Seok, and the doctor was happy to learn about their progress. He thought that the only thing left was for them to persuade the alters into agreement and starting the treatment involving therapies to help them overcome the painful memories they had. Do-hyun wanted to try overcoming them together with Ri-jin, and Ri-jin felt that they should complete the memories they had of each other to complete the puzzle. Dr. Seok agreed to their suggestion but he had one request: could they make it less obvious when it came to their public display of affection? Pwahahahaha! Do-hyun and Ri-jin was holding hands in front of him all this while, and they looked like a married couple already. Kekekekeke! Dr. Seok had never imagined that his student and his patient would have a strange fate connecting them together, and he hoped to see the two Do-hyuns in front of him winning against their trauma.

The present Do-hyun and the past Do-hyun sat together for their consultation session with each other, and Ri-jin thought that Do-hyun should learn to accept his alters as a way for him to love himself more. She suggested that they shared their memories and Ri-jin recalled the time shortly after her mother’s death. It was her birthday and little Do-hyun was the only person who celebrated it with her. Little Ri-jin only became more excited when Do-hyun showed her a sparkler. He even promised to bring her to a real fireworks show. It was the happiest memory to her, and Do-hyun was relieved that it became a good one for her.

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_001969763 Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_001999534

As for Do-hyun, it was shortly after he entered Seungjin, a big place with a scary grandfather and his changing father. Little Ri-jin was the only friend he had in the house and she invited him to play house with him, with Nana the bear as their baby. How cute! She also shared a secret with little Do-hyun: Nana was a gift from her deceased father. God, it was so cute when little Ri-jin called little Do-hyun ‘darling’! She was the reason he was able to survive the new environment and Ri-jin was the one who helped him first. Ri-jin was happy that she didn’t give him painful memories alone; instead, they shared some good ones.

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_002052958 Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_002058095

When asked about her father, Ri-jin couldn’t really recall anything about him since he passed away before she was born, and her mother passed away before she could tell her more about him. Do-hyun looked troubled for asking her that question and suggested for them to do something, that was to comfort their younger selves.

Thus, little Do-hyun and little Ri-jin finally got to leave the dark room in the basement, greeting the light hand in hand. Do-hyun and Ri-jin went to the theme park and they saw their younger selves in front of them, smiling like the brightest angels and laughing like normal kids. They waved at the images as they comforted each other, just like what they promised before..

The couple went to the souvenirs shop and Ri-jin had already made a list of gifts for the alters, because she wanted to give them the things they loved and also as a way to bribe them. Hehehe! She decided on a big teddy bear for Nana and planned to get a set of fishing rods and beer for Ferry, because he didn’t get to drink even a drop of the beer before passing out. Do-hyun suggested that they bought a big toy boat for Ferry too! Ri-jin chose a headband with a big ribbon for Yo-na (she made Do-hyun try it on! Heeee~) and a dairy and a pen for Yo-sub. But then, she had trouble deciding on what Se-gi would like.

They ended up at the carriage where Se-gi showed Ri-jin the fireworks and kissed her, and Ri-jin recalled those moments before she stepped inside it, with Do-hyun sitting in front of her. Ri-jin felt uneasy that Se-gi suddenly left when she called out Do-hyun back then, but Do-hyun knew that Se-gi won’t simply disappear just like that, because he won’t do so until he got to release all the hate and anger he had towards his father. When asked about his father, Do-hyun said that Jun-pyo was once a caring father and although he thought that he was abused by his father, Ferry was an alter he created in memories of his kind father and out of guilt. Ri-jin wondered which emotion was stronger in Do-hyun: hate or longing for his father, but she herself wasn’t sure about her own feelings towards Jun-pyo. Se-gi could possibly go and strangle Jun-pyo to death if he ever sensed Ri-jin feeling threatened by his father, but it was also possible for him to stay calm if he could feel that Ri-jin was happy. Ri-jin thought that she should forgive Jun-pyo, even if it’s for their sake of happiness..

We got the first winner visiting on that night, as someone approached the gifts and picked up the fishing rod. Oh, it’s Ferry Park! He was so ecstatic at the sight of the fishing rod; trying it out and kissing it with all his heart. Awwwwh, Ri-jin chose a good present for him! He sat down for a serving of fried chicken and the beer he didn’t get to drink before, and he got to do so this time without losing his consciousness. Yeay, and awww! Ferry reminded Ri-jin to convey his words to both Daddy Oh and Do-hyun, and Ri-jin asked why he suddenly decided to leave. Oh no 😦 He thought that he’s aged a bit and Do-hyun’s finally living his life a bit more comfortably now, so he’s thinking of going on a trip.

Ri-jin kept smiling and staring at him and Ferry knew that the young lady wanted to ask him something. She wondered if the reason he rescued her when she was kidnapped was to make up for the fire incident years ago, where Jun-pyo didn’t get to save her. Ferry’s face changed but he didn’t really answer her question and drank his second glass of beer. Now that he’s got to drink what he always wanted to have, he left his final words to Ri-jin:

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_002918833

Ferry: Our baby (Do-hyun)..please take care of him well. Because of you and because I trust only you, I can leave without any worries. And you..keep smiling and as you live, think of good thoughts. The past doesn’t really matter; it’s not important. It’s the life we only get to live once, right? Stay healthy.

He was just about to have his third glass of beer when the headache came, telling him that it’s time for him to leave. Ferry sighed that it would be good to have another glass and even winked at Ri-jin before he passed out. He was back inside the alter room and the door opened in front of him, revealing the sea and a boat with his name on it. Ferry walked out towards the boat, carrying the fishing bag on his shoulder and taking in the sweet smell of freedom. He gave a salute as tears fell on his cheeks…

Do-hyun stirred up awake to find himself in Ferry’s do, and Ri-jin told him that Ferry had left just now. Ferry asked Ri-jin to convey something to Do-hyun, that was for him to live freely. He knew that Do-hyun would know very well what it meant. That brought back the conversation little Jun-young had with Jun-pyo about the matter, and Do-hyun was touched at that thought.

Madam Shin saw Chairman Seo drinking by herself in the middle of the night and the two ladies shared a bottle of alcohol, with Madam Shin doing most of the talking. She realized that her mother-in-law had been suffering all this while, just like how she’s hurting to see Do-hyun in pain. Madam Shin thought the Cha household was not that great after all, because it’s being guarded by Lady Seo and Lady Shin at that moment. Chairman Seo was alarmed when she brought up the matter of Seo-yeon’s child and told the chairman that Do-hyun had met that child.

…and the two Do-hyuns were staring at something on the wall. Do-hyun wondered what it was and Ri-jin didn’t have any answer to that question, because that’s the reason why she called him upstairs. Secretary Ahn joined them in the staring session, informing them that there was no sign of people entering the house, but the camera showed Do-hyun going upstairs and whatever they were staring at had to be Do-hyun’s work of art. The three of them suspected the same thing..a new alter?

[END of Episode 19]

Someone..has been watching too much Sailor Moon. Is it Do-hyun, or Ri-jin?

Jokes aside, I am not ready to send this drama away. Not yet. I thought that I could avoid the withdrawal symptom somehow by preparing myself in advance, but it just got worse. Lots of crying in the past few days and yesterday was the worst, and that didn’t include the tears I shed for this episode.

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_002084640

We get to see how Do-hyun and Ri-jin entered the first phase of healing their wounded hearts, and they’re doing good so far. Perhaps, recalling those painful and ugly memories did have some good effects, in the way of bringing them closer as well as helping Do-hyun to overcome his illness. No one said that it was an easy feat, but these two were brave in fighting against the traumatic experience they had. Although most of the memories were less than stellar, there were moments where their younger selves were supporting each other in their own way, just like what they’re doing at the moment.

Although we’re already at the penultimate episode, it doesn’t feel that way when I’m watching this episode, and that makes Ferry’s departure even more devastating. It’s hard to believe that he was the one who volunteered to ‘go’ first but considering how he’s the most matured in terms of age among the alters, it makes sense for him to catch up things faster compared to the rest of them. At least he got to drink (although not to his heart’s content) his favourite beer and see Ri-jin for the last time. It’s cute how he’s calling Ri-jin ‘saekshi’ which means young lady, but the word is also used to address a newly married lady. It’s as if he’s looking at her through a father’s eyes, and his last words made me bawl.

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_002644426

Go and have your freedom, Ferry. Do-hyun will also live freely for your sake.

Speaking about the alters…X doesn’t seem to be like what we have predicted before this based on the preview, and he’s more like a magician than an intermediate. He’s indeed the mysterious Mr. X, because we only get to learn about him in the last episode, and he seems to be close to Nana the alter. If that’s the case…maybe he was there from the beginning and only now decided to show himself, just like a magician? Hmmmm!

[+] Nothing beats a short nap after recapping~! Yeeehaaaa~!

I was wondering why it had to be Ferry who disappeared first aside from his age, and it hit me: he was created out of Do-hyun’s love towards his father, but he’s also an alter holding Do-hyun’s guilt. Perhaps..seeing how Ri-jin is happy and living well even by staying beside Do-hyun is the best thing to ever happen, and Ferry feels that he has no reason to stay..because he no longer had to protect Ri-jin and keep Do-hyun’s guilt in Do-hyun’s peaceful life. It’s like seeing Do-hyun coming terms with the part of himself who continued to blame himself for what happened in the past, and that part embraced him to comfort him, like what Ferry said: the past is nothing much. By integrating Ferry into his own self, Do-hyun is acknowledging the fact that he deserves living in peace without blaming himself all the time.

What about the other alters? Yeah, Se-gi will be the hardest one to deal with, but we have witnessed how protective he is of Do-hyun. Well, it might come off as a reluctant bromance (and I think it is!): despite his constant ramblings about Do-hyun’s coward self, Se-gi was the one who came out and helped Do-hyun when Do-hyun couldn’t deal with a particular thing. He was the first person to have extended his hand towards Do-hyun and offered his assistance despite acting out of anger, but the thought still counts. Do-hyun himself seems to be apprehensive when it comes to dealing with his anger, and if Jun-pyo does wake up in the final episode, we might get to see how Do-hyun will deal with the source of his anger, leading to him solving his ‘misunderstanding’ with Se-gi.

Kill.Me.Heal.Me.E19.150311.HDTV.H264.450p-LIMO.avi_002614725

Yo-na and Yo-sub were the alters born out of Do-hyun’s wish to run from the pain and torture haunting him, it seems fitting that they’re merging themselves with Do-hyun after he has accepted those nightmares. They’re not only there because of the past, because they are probably like Do-hyun’s personal shields against whatever painful things he couldn’t seem to handle by himself. Will it be easy for Do-hyun to let go of his shields? Probably not that easy, but he’s moving towards it: facing everything confidently instead of running away like he always did in the past.

I can’t wait for episode 20 (the last episode O.O) because of X. Why is he making his appearance so late into the game? Like what I said above, Nana seemed to know him but we don’t know a thing about him. Maybe his presence has something to do with supporting Do-hyun for one last time? Nevertheless, the clothes are..unique, and I have to wonder who was the original owner of those, including that hat and that cape. Se-gi? He would have probably thought that they were ridiculous. Ferry? Nah…not his style! Yo-sub? Very unlikely! Or….Do-hyun himself? Puppy..did you have a secret hobby no one knew about?

As much as I love seeing Do-hyun in suits, I am still hoping that he will eventually leave Seungjin. I..don’t know, maybe he can move in with the Oh Family? His rivalry with Ki-joon seems never ending and only one of them can be the heir of the group. Let Ki-joon take ALL the money and let Do-hyun live with ALL the happiness he can take in. I see Chae-yeon accepting Do-hyun’s explanation although with a heavy heart, and I believe that she will continue to become his friend.

And last but not least…Oh Ri-on!!! He deserves the best girl in the world for being the best brother for Ri-jin, and no less. He has never expressed his feelings towards Ri-jin and only he knows how hard it is to handle his own heart. He doesn’t fight the duel he can never win and chooses the most difficult decision, that is to continue being only a brother to Ri-jin. You’re not loser, Ri-on; you’re a protector of your family, and also your friend. And I am so proud of you for being the most supportive second lead ever. Lots of love ❤ ❤ ❤ for you!

Are you ready for the final episode? In case you need it, here’s a Youtube user who uploaded all the making of clips and videos from Namoo Actors. Prepare yourself for the withdrawal!

  1. Thank you @mimi as always. You are an awesome recapper!

I just keep feeling so happy after last Wednesday’s episode and after this one. I feel like I could write paragraphs, but I’m in the last phases of graduating right now, so I don’t have the time anymore!

I am so looking forward to tomorrow’s episode. Nana, the mysterious Mr. X the magician -that’s a lot of M’s-, Yo-na, and surely Se-gi too, right? -I wish Yo-sub could fit in too!!- I wrote this over on the preview page already, but how in the world is the writer going to fit everything in!? 😀

I’ve been wondering ever since Chairman Seo, Madam Shin, and Cha Jun-pyo were revealed to be less… deep in conspiracies…? I mean that it was revealed that none of them set the fire or changed the birth register beforehand. If it turns out that they car accident isn’t a simple car accident and none of them planned it either, could Cha Young-pyo be responsible for it -whether accidental or planned? If he planned it, maybe he wasn’t aware that Jun-pyo had returned and thought that getting rid of Chairman Cha and Min Seo-yeon would give him an opportunity to take Seungjin over. Or perhaps he accidentally caused it, but since he was the driver in another car at fault for causing the accident, he hid his involvement?

And, will Jun-pyo wake up? When will Ki-joon drop the bomb of his knowledge of Do-hyun’s DID? How will it all fit into an hour? Oh wait. I’ve already said that. ^^; I’m going to stop rambling and am off to bed. I’m looking forward to enjoying the final episode with all of you. 😀 -So excited! twirl~

      1. I gotta have faith that the writers don’t disappoint. It is late in the show to introduce characters so I’m nervous. I just want a great final show because I loved this show and because I would like all the people involved to be recognized for it.

  2. And here comes the magician. What.The.Heck? It turns out the writer didn’t have an imagination as wild as we (the audiences) do, and the magician card is yet another twist (not a good one). Maybe if the crews have more times on their hand, or do something about the pacing of the story earlier on, X could have been developed better and into a worthwhile character. We haven’t fully seen him in person, but based on the preview, it’s safe to say we know who he is. But as much as I loved Mamoru-chan in Sailor Moon, I can’t say I feel the same for Mr. X.

If anything, there’s a good indication Junpyo is waking up, and that’s an appearance I’m more interested in. Dohyun has been long tortured by his father’s monstrous image and it’s time to change that to help him on his journey of healing, I wish his father can be a different person waking up, preferably without amnesia and a heart full of remorse for his parts in destroying both kids’ childhood memories. And maybe if he shows a little more love to his wife, Madam Shin, she could also be on her way to redemption. I’ve always felt that Dohyun needed to at least complete his broken family puzzles to be one with his alters, and that’s what I wanted to see in his family’s dynamic. I’m glad that grandmother at least, shows more civility toward him now as oppose to her gruff and dismissive way in the past.

I’m also happy to see our leads getting drunk in happiness (though it’s always a bad omen in dramaland). It’s so poignant to see them saying goodbye to their younger selves, after everything that they’ve been through, it’s only right to say proper goodbyes and let bygones be bygones. There’s never been a greater moment for Dohyun than receiving the forgiveness from Rijin, he has nothing he should be sorry of, but Rijin relieved him of all the burdens he carried for 21 years, and it’s comforting to know Rijin never stopped being his confidant.

Though I’m also like most people who wanted to keep the alters instead of integration as the final resort, I do feel that with Dohyun’s other pieces staying as pieces, he will never be a complete man that’s worthy of Rijin. I’m not saying it changes his attitude or anything, but the pieces were created as a way to deal with their past and his trauma, and for them to stay, it’d only serve as a remembrance all the fearful times they had in the past and contradict their goodbye trip to their past selves. Plus with the alters breaking havoc at every chance they get, I can’t imagine what kind of future will Rijin and Dohyun have, it’s hijinks for us, but troublesome for them. And really, what kind of girl can stand, being love rivals with her brother, vying for her lover’s attention, especially with a persistent girl like Yona? I shudder at the thought Yona might want more than just kisses from Rion oppa. This drama has done a wonderful job in making us care for the personalities as a person, and we relate to them on personal level, it’s sad to watch them go, as heartbreaking as it was to discover the past, but I’m ready for them to fit back into Dohyun and let Dohyun become the great man he’s destined to be.

It’s inevitable and we’re coming to the end of this drama, I’m partly thrilled, partly sad, I’m not ready to say goodbye yet. We have such wonderful casts working together to put this magic show on board and I feel like there’s just so much more to see, so much more to tell, or maybe I’m just getting greedy watching my two favourite people being lovey dovey. Alas, we all have to prepare ourselves and I can’t imagine how I’ll deal next wed-thur. Can we make a support group for the withdrawal symptom coming next week?

    1. @mimi I woke up at 6 this and saw your recap was posted at 30 minutes before, I was wondering, did you stay up all night for the recap? I really appreciate having your recap every wed-thu morning, it’s fast become my morning coffee. Thank you so much for your hard work!

        1. Aww, how do you manage? Take care dear, don’t push yourself too much. We will faithfully wait for the recap.

  3. I cried at this episode more than I cried at any other. I cried when Do Hyun and Ri Jin were on the ride, I sobbed when Ferry left. My god, how much will I weep when it’s Se Gi’s turn to leave? I’m guessing he will be the last, since I can see him having the hardest time letting go.

There is still so much to be tied up for one ep. I am not ready for tomorrow.

    1. Maybe the crying got worse because we knew that it’s ending soon ㅠㅠ Gaaaaahhh I was crying each time I replayed those scenes: first for watching, second for recapping, and third for taking screencaps. I need to have a good rest for tonight!

      1. I was rewatching the ep because I’m a masochist, and although the emotional scenes were my amazing, I think my favourite might be when Ri On says that had Ri Jin been accept into the family she and Do Hyun would have been twins and Ri On would have been the man. The second time I watched that it.was.so.f-ing.heartbreaking. I think that perfectly encompasses how things might have been had the past been different. I found it so poetic.

I don’t know how to deal with all these emotions. This never happened before. Sure, I felt for dramas in the past, but never quite like this. I think KMHL is ending up as my favourite of all time.

  4. Thanks for the recap!
I am going to be crying myself to sleep after this is over tomorrow.

How freaking amazing is Ji Sung, I mean really? And HJE, too. And the writer.

The Perry Park good-bye scene had me sobbing; that CDH is made up of all the beautiful pieces just makes me so happy for his future. PP was warm and optimistic and fun. Only good things can come from DH absorbing him. But why do WE have to part with him?

The moments between RJ and PP as he knows he is disappearing, and looking out of those eyes for the last time – gah – they both were amazing. I can’t heap enough praise on the actors.

But, how can I say goodbye to Segi? I can’t. I won’t. He needs to come back and be in a feature length film where he never goes away from the screen. Where he gets to smash things, be violent, be angry as much as he wants. And wear sexy clothes doing so. I’d watch it.

    ♥ break!

    1. No one can replace Se-gi. No one! /sobs/ It will never be the same again without him after this drama ends ㅜㅜ Ferry had me bawling like a hungry baby and I can’t imagine the amount of tears I will shed for Se-gi, not to mention the ending..
I want to stay in this dream for a little longer, but I guess it’s impossible…right? Ah, I am not ready to part with this drama and everyone inside it…..

  5. Awwwwwwn. * Group Hug *…..I totally forgot about ki-joon and Chae Yeon until they showed their faces for few minutes and now I have forgotten them again #bleh. Can’t they all ( Secretary Ahn, Ri-jin, Ri-On, Do Hyun, Ri-na) move in together and live happily ever after, and maybe invite ki-joon for monthly visits to show him what happiness feels/looks like.

Okay, for real now. This episode had me feeling all sorts. I kept wiping the tears away. I dint know saying goodbye to Perry Park was going to be this hard. I don’t know what I will do when Yo-na goes :(. And I know I am going to suffer a major withdrawal syndrome when this drama ends :(.

Final episode. Bring it on writer-nim * shoots gun into the air *

      1. Hahahahaha. That’s going to be too much for ki-joon to handle, we don’t want him developing some kind of D.I.D when he sees that. its not like I won’t love to see that tho….Hehehehehe.

  6. I’m a little disgruntled by this episode. The pacing was not the best. I get that they had to show us the healing part but maybe it could have come earlier. I don’t know where though. The only way I can console myself is by looking at this episode like it’s what comes after happily ever after. We get to see our protagonists grapple with real life after they drive into the sunset. I’m hoping that tomorrow delivers. It’s seems like a lot to pack into one hour. This is the first show I actually wish got an extra episode or two. I’m glad we get to see the personalities again. Maybe the introduction of nana and mr x this late in the the game are to show just like life, not everything is tied up in a pretty bow. looking forward to tomorrow, come what may. This show has been soo good. I’m sad to see it go, I have so much love for it.

    1. I feel you. I think the drama won’t end simply with Do-hyun miraculously recovered from his illness; instead, it will show how he’s fighting against it, but this time with support from people who love him for his real self :’)

      1. Maybe it will end like an American show like a season 1 cliffhanger. But since Kdrama’s don’t work that way than I have to have faith that this show will end awesome…this is like a drama within a drama for me haha

        1. I hope not! That’s what threw me off with American shows, they ALWAYS have recycled stories for a few seasons. I just wish they at least extended it, what with Mr. X showing up this late (so rude, jk). I’m so not ready to part with Jisung and Hwang Jungeum.

  7. I wonder if there will be a meta scene where Dr. Seok or Dr. Park give therapy to a patient or a group that have addiction to a certain tv show 😉 😀

    1. @mimi thanks for the fast recap…. and I think Mr. X is more like Kaito Kid in “Detective Conan” 🙂

      1. Yes3!!!i’m also think mr.x is more resemble to kaito kid in detective conan…hi-5!!!hihihi..jisung just too cute wearing that right… ^_^

  8. ~< can’t this show just go on a little longer? not prepared yet, it’s been so long for me a drama addict to be so invested with a drama, none before KMHM interested me 😦
    now it’s leaving T^T

  9. i think they should have 1 episode more, but yeahhh, i don’t know why korea wed-thurs drama must ending in thursday

  10. It seems redundant to be always saying how great jisung and hje are, but what to do, when they’re always delivering these awesome performances! Jisung was especially amazing in that Perry scene where he was on the brink of switching back to Dohyun. I could literally see two distinct personas fleeting back and forth from the expressions on his face! For me, Jisung has, without a doubt, blown away the competition for the best actor, not just in Korea, but also in all of Asia.

    1. Can i just add, I get that the episode is focused on the healing phase so although our OTP is together again, they’re both still a little subdued. So I’m glad for that scene where little Rijin and little Dohyun played house for providing me my quota of sunshine. I think i giggled a little too much when she called him yeobu and he gamely pretends to eat the food she supposedly made.

    2. I don’t think we could ever say enough. They are simply explosively good together. I just love them to death.

  11. @mimi
Thank you so much for the recap. I am pretty sure at this point that we’re headed for an open end. I really was expecting MBC to give this show additional episodes but with Ji Sung being sick, I guess it would be too much all things considered. I don’t mind open ends to be honest. As long as the story is well written and my OTP are happy, who cares! I can imagine an end for them in my head. I have faith in the writer and my fingers are crossed. I can’t wait for the final episode and will be a mess tonight after the show ends. Still its been a great ride with this awesome show.

    1. As much as I love to see more of the drama, an extension will surely affect the flow of the story. I am somehow glad that MBC does not bring up any talk about extension given the show’s popularity, but it might have something to do with the writer’s willingness to adjust the story and also the budget. I don’t think the writer for KMHM will agree with an extension, and the drama’s tight schedule is already showing its effect to the cast.

Let’s hope that the finale will tie the loose ends and give us a good ending 😉

  12. There is too much awesome-ness packed in this episode. After each episode, I’ll be sure that no other episodes can top that. And I keep getting proven wrong by each new episode.

I’m not so sure how I feel about introducing a character this late into the show though. I think Mr X’s role is to kind of get rid of the personalities or fuse the personalities into Do-hyun. So I guess this is the right time for him to come out since the personalities are starting to leave? Still, it doesn’t feel comfortable enough. One episode worth of a new character just doesn’t seem enough. Moreover, the power struggle in the company still has yet to be resolved. I’m sincerely hoping that the last episode will wrap things up nicely. It’ll be a shame if it doesn’t, given how successful the show has become.

  13. I really need courage to write comment here even this site is the first thing i open before anything else this morning..can’t believe we just only left with 1 episode..what will we do for next wed-thur??waaaaaa…maybe @mimi should do something about it like post anything about both rijin and dohyun on next wed – thur for us who still craving for them…kekeke~~~thx @mimi for beautiful recap and hope to see you again on the next drama only if i can bear to watch the still airing drama again ❤ ❤

      1. maybe you can post some of the memorable or funny scenes and then we can all reminisce how we feel for each scene. like what rijin and dohyun did this episode, remembering the good memories might help us “heal”..

btw, thanks for your wonderful and timely recaps and thoughts @mimi.

        1. Loved the scene of the kids playing house. So innocent then before the adults ruined their childhood. Little ORJ say Yeobo here is the kimchi I made and they crack up.

      2. So we can cry together @mimi..hahaha
@dongwookie we really need thus site to make the healing process become smooth right..hehe

Rant Out, Souls!
