It’s been a while since the last time I wrote a proper review for a show, and I think this one deserves the shout out. I have to admit that I only knew about My Absolute Boyfriend for two reasons: 1) It is a Korean remake of the popular Jdrama Zettai Kareshi (also translated to Absolute Boyfriend), and 2) It is a pre-produced series starring Yeo Jin-goo, Minah, and Hong Jong-hyun. I was just going to have a short peek at it when it finally landed itself a broadcast spot on SBS’ Wed-Thu slot, but here I am, waiting and having a good long thought on the issues brought up by the drama.
It’s that time of the year again, when airing dramas end and new dramas take over the empty slots left by the predecessors. Yesterday, several dramas aired their premiere episode as two of them caught my attention. I realize that nowadays I’m not that consistent with my drama watching schedule as I tend to drop halfway and in some rare cases, I even dropped dramas right after I saw the first episode. This time, I’m quite happy to say that I’m quite relieved when the two dramas that caught my attention, Shark and Dating Agency: Cyrano, exceed my expectation.
Lots of misunderstanding in this episode and shenanigans again by the vampire gang! Of course, this was another human lesson for the vampires with the topic being desires. So be prepared to have your little vampires’ innocence be taken away in this episode!
Nothing plot driven happens in this episode nor were there any revelations. It wasn’t one of the funniest episodes ever since there wasn’t much shenanigans being pulled by the vampires. But there was a guest star in this episode with Kim Wan Sun!
From here on out, I’m going to do mini recaps since the episodes are only 20 minutes long and plus my Korean isn’t good enough to recap everything exactly how it is. I am able to get a gist of it and from time to time I am able to understand some dialogue, but only if it’s the basic kind. So here I go!
Oh, another note, I’m going to start calling Hyun Joong, Woo Bin since that is his official stage name.
Plus I found out the other girls names: Woo Hee (leader), Soo Yun (the one with long black hair), Yu Bi (the silent one) and Minah (Girls’ Day member). Oh and the lady that’s Soo Mi’s friend is Jenny.
