I don’t think I’ll be able to move from Chicago Typewriter anytime soon. Sometimes, it’s the drama you promised not to invest in too much ended up owning your mind, body, and soul, not to mention the tears. CT was like that to me. It was during the pre-emptions between episodes 8 and 9 that I realized that I was lost without the drama to bury myself in, proving that I was already too deep into it. I blame the drama and its soothing, lullaby-like background songs (despite the heavy themes looming behind), which became my respite from the real world in the past two months. The wait was worth it, and I’m left feeling hollow after the finale.
Their friendship is a well-known secret to the fans of kdramas, especially after the highly anticipated cameo Yoo Ah-in had in Song Hye-kyo’s hit drama Descendants’of the Sun last year as a birthday gift for her, hence it’s not a surprise W Korea nabbed both of them to be featured on the cover of the March issue for the magazine. Being both fashion icons and trendsetters, the pair is ethereal and dreamlike in the pictorial, which is accompanied by interviews with them. Check out the shots!
It’s already holiday season for the magazines as their December edition slowly make their way into the market, and this means new pictorials for us! A number of male stars have been chosen to be the cover models for the magazines and I find it a rare occurrence since most of the time, the covers are dominated by female stars and models. I’m just happy to see a pictorial but I won’t complain at all for this feast!
Celebrating his 30th (Korean) birthday last Tuesday, Yoo Ah-in is leaving behind a memorable track record before his army service, which will probably be due some time next year. Veteran rakes in more than 13 million admissions while The Throne has attracted more than 6 million moviegoers to date. His drama Six Flying Dragons premiered last week, leading the ratings battle for the Mon-Tue slot. I think it’s fitting to feature him on this week’s Magazine Monday since we will be seeing him mostly in sageuk garb in the next six months 🙂
Hope is not lost in times of despair.
It’s here, it’s here, it’s here!
A week prior to the broadcast, Six Flying Dragons presented a special program to introduce the drama to the fans, as well as the potential viewers who might be interested to watch it after encountering the special. The program, entitled Six Flying Dragons – Who Are the Six Dragons? was aired on 28 September, and the day marks the final seven days countdown to the first episode of the drama! I hope I am not the only one who is beyond excited about it, and hopefully you will enjoy the summary of the special!
(MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED) 😉
Someone once asked me,”Who is your favourite actor?” To be honest, I cannot provide a definite answer to that question until now. I just can’t pinpoint which actor has captured my heart wholly, because there are just too many of them. Tee-hee! I guess it’s okay not to be faithful when it comes to this, right? October will be a great month, because the magazines are so generous in supplying all the eye candies to us! It’s raining guys I love, and it’s indeed an early Christmas for me!
Several months after the news first came out for Six Flying Dragons, we’re finally getting closer to the premiere this coming October. It feels like an eternity to have waited for the drama but it’s gonna be here soon! SBS is doing an all-out promotion for the drama, releasing stills, teasers, and character details just to lure in more viewers to tune into the drama. The story of six dragons in the twilight of Goryeo and at the dawn of Joseon, how will these people contribute to the foundation of the 500-year old dynasty?
When it rains, it pours. This week seems like a busy week for drama fans and production teams as the promotion for the upcoming dramas is kicked up a notch, making the wait for them even more difficult. Although we’re still in the month of August, the September and October dramas are hard at work, gearing up for their respective premieres, and we get to have our first look(s) into these dramas: She Was Pretty, The God of Merchant: Gaekju 2015, and Six Flying Dragons.
