I cannot believe that it is already October – another year is coming to an end and sometimes I don’t even realise it. As with the time, dramas come and go at great speed. It feels like Moon Lovers (or Scarlet Heart: Ryeo) just aired yesterday, but we have gone beyond the drama’s half-mark. Some of the acting performances from the ensemble cast are one of the best and this brings me to the star of our feature, Hong Jong-hyun who plays 3rd Prince Wang Yo, the main antagonist of the show. I think I have newfound appreciation for the actor because his portrayal of the villainous character has been quite impressive – he has this strong presence that I feel whenever he is in front of his brothers. I’m sure they feel it too, especially the younger ones.
Dramas come and go but some of them stay with us for a long, long time. The previous Wed-Thu battle between Descendants of the Sun and Please Come Back, Mister ended in April, and some of the cast are making their appearance on the pages of various magazines this month. I hope this is just the beginning to more pictorials~
I really have to thank SURE for featuring my favourites for its upcoming April issue; first with Son Ho-joon and this time, the magazine courts Baek Jin-hee for a beauty pictorial. She recently wraps up filming the long My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol and currently in talks to join Namgoong Min in Beast’s Beauty, a new SBS weekend drama by the writer-PD duo of The Girl Who Sees Smells. I really hope she will sign up and gains her momentum again through the drama, plus I will get my favourites as the leads! Win-win. Baek Jin-hee also shares her beauty tip together with the pictorial, but it would be nice to have more shots..
It sure feels like forever since the last time I saw him in a drama, but Son Ho-joon has been steadily building his name in variety shows as well as on the movie arena after acting in Mrs Cop last year. SURE is featuring the actor in the magazine’s April issue in a black and white pictorial as he shares his thoughts on doing varieties, acting, friends, and also his love life. I still feel disappointed that we did not get a cameo for the whole Reply 1994 kids (except for Jung Woo) in Reply 1988 but we know that his bromance with Yoo Yeon-seok lives forever, and they even traveled abroad together recently 😀
The star for the week is actor Park Hae-jin, who plays Yoo Jung in the Mon-Tue cable drama Cheese In The Trap. The television ratings have been hitting new peaks every week, which is great for the production team and cast! It’s even better to know that filming for the drama is completed; the cast even had a wrap-up party! I haven’t started watching the drama yet, but I definitely hope to strike it off my to-watch list soon 😉 Check out the various pictorials he has had, classified into 3 segments ❤
Park Min-young first caught my attention when she starred in fusion sageuk Sungkyunkwan Scandal back in 2010; the series gained many fans’ support despite mediocre ratings. She quickly followed up this success with manga adaptation drama City Hunter in the following year alongside Lee Min-ho. Recently, she made her mark again with action thriller Healer and had a love line with Ji Chang-wook’s character as the titular hero. Now, she’s back with another drama Remember: Son’s War and plays rookie prosecutor Lee In-ah. I like how In-ah has a mind of her own and does not give in to pressure. It’s heartening to see that the show’s ratings are steadily on the rise! The actress has had some pictorials over the years, and I’ll be waiting for the magazines to feature her this year! If you’re wondering why the male cast of Remember are not featured this week, no worries because it’s coming soon 😉
Celebrities Kim So-yeon and Namgoong Min are featured on SURE magazine this January. The pictorials are not linked but both of them have been part of MBC’s variety show We Got Married, albeit in different time periods. They pose with style, the actress with endless beauty and the actor with overflowing charisma~ Both have starred in various projects from last year, and it looks like 2016 will be a great year for them too.
In case you have been missing him, actor Jung Kyung-ho is here to remind you about his upcoming drama! One More Happy Ending will be airing its first episode on Jan 20th after Sweet Savage Family, and this will be his first prime time drama on the Big Three after his army service! The actor shot a pictorial with SURE for the magazine’s January edition, looking all suave and smoldering in the shots released today. Jung Kyung-ho and Jang Na-ra appeared on MBC Drama Awards 2015 yesterday to give the fans a taste of their chemistry, and I must say that they look so adorable together. If you need another reason to watch the drama, he will be playing a single dad with a kid! I can feel my heart bursting with rainbows already~
It’s already holiday season for the magazines as their December edition slowly make their way into the market, and this means new pictorials for us! A number of male stars have been chosen to be the cover models for the magazines and I find it a rare occurrence since most of the time, the covers are dominated by female stars and models. I’m just happy to see a pictorial but I won’t complain at all for this feast!
Ji Jin-hee is sure a hard worker, because he still finds some time in between filming his drama to participate in a photo shoot. The male lead of SBS weekender I Have A Lover was featured in L’Officiel Hommes last month and this October, he took his good looks and charm to SURE Korea! Still as handsome as ever, no matter which magazine he’s on 😉
