I can’t sit still while watching this episode. Gosh, it’s like watching Cha-don playing with fire while he knows well that he can get hurt at any time. Not to mention that a cat in the form of Ji Se-kwang is closely chasing after him, waiting for the right time to catch him red-handed. Oh, except that the Lee Cha-don we’re talking about is not the ordinary rat that gets easily caught. I would say that this isn’t a simple cat and mouse game.
Cha-don suggests that he will try to find the said master but Se-kwang wants to find the person himself. Officer Yang wonders if everything will be alright, but Cha-don feels that it’s safe since Se-kwang doesn’t know that he’s the person he’s trying to find. The go to a sauna to make another transaction business but they’ve been trailed by someone under Se-kwang; luckily, Chief Jo is around to save them. Chief Jo warns Cha-don to lay down and cut off all the ties he had with the people outside that might cause suspicion.
Ji-hoo goes to the place where Attorney Hwang committed suicide and she’s sure that it’s not a suicide actually, since Attorney Hwang planned to visit his family after the suicide day. Reporter Go drops by and tells her about Attorney Hwang’s gambling habit and his debts with the loan sharks, but Ji-hoo wants to pursue the case as a murder as the dead’s wallet wasn’t taken away, unlike his phone that went missing. She feels that the phone will provide her some clues that will show her the direction of the case.
Prosecutor Kwon calls the prosecutors for a party at a bar, but Cha-don feels something is not right and tries to keep himself sober. However, he runs into one of his contacts and the person keeps pestering him about a company. Hyuk (the faithful underling of Se-kwang) comes out of the room, looking slightly drunk and Cha-don quickly leads him away from that person.
Although the investigation is being carried out, Cha-don doesn’t want to stop his business although his secret team is worried about it. He gets to know about the company Silver Rain and it actually belongs to Bi-ryung. He decides to give it a try to shake the company and see whether something will come out of it. Meanwhile, Bi-ryung asks for Se-kwang’s help to get rid of her obstacles. Although he refuses at first, he agrees to help her since she plans to be his backup once he enters the politics.
The Investigation Department has started their investigation and Cha-don doesn’t hide his talent of finding out secret connections between prosecutors and important people in their country. However, Se-kwang is actually planning to further dig about Cha-don as he knows that he’s the Mater of Extortion they’re looking for. Jae-in comes to the office to find Se-kwang and grabs his collar, asking him to compensate for her restaurant’s loss. He seems to recognize her from their first meeting when she was still fat, but she mistakes him of trying to hit on her. She sees Cha-don with Ji-hoo and immediately switches into her friendly girlfriend mode.
Ji-hoo ends up going for a lunch with Se-kwang while Cha-don is forced to eat with Jae-in. Jae-in teases Cha-don about his crush towards Ji-hoo but soon becomes overly sweet with her gestures. It turns out that Mr Kim is spying on them and they have to act like a couple for the sake of Madam Bok. Mr Kim seems satisfied (and fooled) with their acting and reports it to Madam Bok before leaving. He’s curious why Jae-in is suddenly being tailed but she doesn’t tell him anything.
Hyuk reports to Se-kwang that there is no trace of special connection in Cha-don’s life, but a document about a man jogs Hyuk’s memory about the man he saw earlier with Cha-don at the bar. Se-kwang suspects that the man is Cha-don’s sponsor. The prosecutors from the Investigation Department are tailing Cha-don and he’s fully aware of it, but he still wants to carry on with his plan. He goes to meet the man, President Choi and he knows that Se-kwang is tapping on their conversation. He puts on a show and manages to escape, but Se-kwang knows better and decides to trick him into believing that they are tricked.
While they are about to leave the restaurant, Se-kwang enters and arrests President Choi for corruption. He acts like Cha-don works with him in order to arrest the president. Chief Jo is furious that Cha-don tries to go against Se-kwang while they both know that Se-kwang isn’t an easy opponent for them. Se-kwang uses his tactics to make President Choi confesses about Cha-don and Cha-don is brought into the investigation room to personally hear the confession from him. Prosecutor Kwon still believe Cha-don but warns him that if the accusation turns out to be true, he has a high price to pay for.
Jae-in tries to sneak out of the house but gets caught by Madam Bok. She manages to escape, saying that she has a date with Cha-don but her mother wants to see herself what she’s up to these days. Jae-in actually goes for a facial session and Bi-ryung is also there, talking continuously on the phone and screams when she’s hurt by the staff. Jae-in feels disturbed and tells her to go to public bath instead of making noise there and they start to argue, which ends up with Jae-in pouring the facial mask onto Bi-ryung’s face before leaving.
Madam Bok follows Jae-in to the Italian restaurant and finds out about Jae-in owning the restaurant behind her back. Although she has a lot of debts because of the restaurant, she doesn’t want to ask for her mother’s help. Madam Bok decides to kick her out of the household because she doesn’t know how scary the money is, but Jae-in is more ashamed that she’s the daughter of a loan shark and Madam Bok is the reason why she grows up without a father.
Cha-don gets to know from Ji-hoo that a search warrant has been issued for his house and he doesn’t get to escape from Se-kwang’s team. He manages to tell Officer Yang about his safe’s passcode and tries to buy some time for Officer Yang to reach his house and take away all the hidden money. Officer Yang arrives at Cha-don’s office but he doesn’t get to move the money as the Investigation Department has arrived. He doesn’t have other choice but to cut the gas pipe and lit a fire to burn down the house in order to get rid of the evidence. Cha-don can’t do anything and stares at the burning house, together with the money he cherished.
Meanwhile, Ji-hoo goes to visit the crime scene again and finds Attorney Hwang’s phone when she conducts a search by herself around. The Investigation Department leaves since they can’t find any evidence out of the ashes as Cha-don weeps over his loss. Officer Yang and the other assistant comes out from their hiding and together with Cha-don, they cry over their hard-earned money that they don’t even get to spend.
The missing Madam Park is actually alive, but she’s confined in a cell in an unknown place. She takes a look at the picture of her family as she remembers what happened before: after Se-kwang met her at the orphanage, he tricked her and brought her to the asylum again. He was so sure that Kang-seok was dead and told her to live believing that Kang-seok was still alive and the boy would show up to kill him, the one who killed his father. Madam Park decides to keep the truth for herself and she vows to wait for the day when Kang-seok will appear and Se-kwang’s happiness will come to an end.
The bank notes are all worthless papers since they’re burned ans Cha-don receives another bad news: he’s going to face the disciplinary committee and most probably will lose his position as a prosecutor. He doesn’t want to go down alone and meets Chief Jo to ask for his help. He wants Chief Jo to stop the committee from taking away his position and if he’s going to be crushed, there’s no way he will leave the people around him alone…
[END of EPISODE 10]
Will he survive or not? Not sure about it, but it’s kind of heartbreaking to see him weeping over the money he lost in the fire. The money is dirty but still, it’s sad to see something earned really hard to disappear in a blink of an eye. Crazy! If I was in his shoes, I’d be the same as Cha-don. Yeah, I love money, just like him.
Am I crazy because I love to see the dark side of Se-kwang? Boy, I really really miss his badass self instead of the righteous prosecutor facade he’s carrying out all this while. I want to see him going all ruthless against Cha-don in the real battle between them. Bring it on please!
