Continuing from the first part of the Joseon Wedding Series, this second part will be focusing on the steps leading to the wedding ceremony itself. Although the practice did undergo changes throughout the hundreds of years of Joseon and actually varies from one region to another, I will be focusing on the general one to avoid confusion, since this is intended to feed the curious minds of kdrama watchers and not for academical purposes. Still, it will be great if this series could be a stepping stone for people to dig deeper into the culture and spur more discoveries of interesting facts about this topic.
I know that getting too excited for a drama this early might not be good for me as I tend to grow tired of the promotional materials, but right now, I just want to enjoy myself and get immersed in the pretty (but short!) teaser for Seven-Day Queen. Good thing KBS is at least being generous now that we’re already in May, and it’s great to know that the premiere has been moved to the end of this month instead of June as reported earlier. This might have been circulating in media for few days already, but I only found out about it earlier yesterday! That is how out of touch I am with kdramaland these days >.< KBS is gathering the lineup for its first primetime sageuk this year, entitled Seven-Day Queen (7일의 왕비) and word is out that the main cast has already confirmed to star in the romance sageuk. The title is what makes me super excited at first, because there is no other queen in Joseon Dynasty other than Queen Dankyung who fits the title, plus the cast is already promising!
