Welcome to the talking cupboard! This blog was founded on March 16, 2011 with the name one talking cupboard. The name was changed afterwards to make it simple, since the URL was thetalkingcupboard from the get go. The blog was created thanks to the viral 30-Day KDrama Challenge back then on tumblr, which inspired me to create a proper blog focusing on my dramas. So far, the blog focuses mainly on Korean entertainment, including kdramas, kmovies, and sometimes kvariety. The blog consists mainly of random thoughts about dramas the I am watching or finished watching, recaps, swoon-worthy and drool-worthy pictures of actors and actresses, magazine spreads, and purely random ramblings. I am deeply interested in the history and culture of South Korea, hence I also made a few posts focused on traditional Korean clothing called hanbok and other things related to Korean culture and history.
The talking cupboard is currently maintained by the creator, Mimi aka muchadoboutlove and Jasmine aka dramaladloverj; Mary aka kichul1106 previously contributed to the blog as well 🙂

Kdrama Fan-girl scream eecckk!!!!! Love your blog, I also have a bit of a obsession with Asian dramas, including kdrama’s. I checked out your blog, and you’ve watched over 200 dramas?! that’s plain awesome! I started at the age of 6, but I couldn’t quite recall how many dramas I’ve watched. I’ll definitely visit your blog quite frequently after this, and it’s nice to see an honest review from fellow kdrama addict^^
Yea 200+ but not just Kdramas (Although, they are my fav!) WOW at the age of 6! Being in the U.S i wasn’t Introduce to other cultural shows into high school :(. I will also be dropping by your blog a ton, since whatever your write I will surly find interesting.

muahahaha~ that’s quite an episode! I’m going to watch it in one go just like I did with TGL, but I couldn’t help but search about ep 10. ohhhh the preview :O but poor Kang Hyuk hubby 😥 strangely enough, I shipped him more with Eun Bi than Chi Soo. OMG second lead syndrome is kicking in
LOL actually I’ve started working on it 😉 I can’t wait anymore. huhu. hopefully my grandma’s places is not going to be affected by flood anymore. but it’s still raining there, so I think nothing much to do except staying indoor and lying around. hehe.

I was going to do the same thing , i hate and i mean HATE waiting for episodes :(. Usually like to watch it in one go. Unfortunately, I have this terrible soft spot for drama’s with HAWT guys, So seeing how “Flower Boy” has Jung il woo and lee ki woo. I couldn’t wait to watch it. I also have a major second lead syndrome as well. Funny thing I rarely go for the second lead but damn it Kang Hyuk is too damn adorable.

Both my grandmas live in Kelantan, a state in Malaysia. That being said, I’m Malaysian 😀 it’s raining season right here, so flood is quite common. luckily the situation is much better now. just praying that the rain won’t pour down so much. otherwise, I might have to ride a boat to move around :S
talking about Kang Hyuk makes me restless 😛 I’m waiting for the right time to start it..I don’t want my mood to interfere my fun watching it! maybe I’m a bit too emotional some times, so I have to pick the best time and feelings before I start to be addicted to a drama.hehe. there’s always pros and cons watching currently airing dramas. waiting for the next episode is a tormenting experience and it’s a whole lot worse when the show ends with a cliffhanger that can make you scream at your screen. it’s pretty crazy, but I admit I’ve done that so many times.
I’m working on the review and trying hard not to make it too long. gosh, I can’t limit myself! :O
aww sorry about it pouring to hard there. Oh malaysia, I know a few people who just moved there from here (here being u.s ). Hopefully the sun will come out soon and dry everything up.
I also hateeee cliffhangers at the end of a drama. I also hate dramas, that never have a ending. Its so incomplete!!! aghh lol i just get mad thinking about it. I agree you should totally wait for the right time before you start watching it. Then you’ll def enjoy it to the fullest!
You can make the review as long as you want, im sure long as its packed with good honest pro’s and cons, it will be GREAT!
p.s total side note here, but you are lucky your in malaysia because at least you get a chance to go to kpop concerts or meet kdrama actors. Since im sure a few try to come there and none will ever come to the u.s LOL~ 🙂
which part of US are you staying right now? I also have my aunts staying there. they’re somewhere around Nevada I think. LOL now we’re talking about our hometown 😀 you’re right about the chance. but sadly, I’ve never got the chance to go to any concert! so frustrated because there would always be something that made me unable to go
and I’m currently sad because I didn’t stand any chance to meet Kim Sun-Ah and Lee Dong-Wook. they’re coming the day after tomorrow! argghh trying hard to keep myself calm~
sometimes I’d be quite late to process an incomplete ending and I’d go,”…and what is that? what’s happening?!” and the anger starts to take over. I’ll never be able to forgive a show that makes me spend 10++ hours watching it and it gives me a weird ending. but then, after sometimes I’ll just go on with it and well, it’s their story, not mine 😛 it’sup to the writers and directors to decide, though if I’m one of them, I’d not toy around with the viewers’ feelings. Angry viewers are some scary creatures! maybe some of the writers like to see those kind of situations where the viewers are venting their anger everywhere. that would make the drama more popular within the public, somehow, even it’s mainly consists of cursing or complaints 🙂

You know incomplete endings don’t bother me as much as, when writers seem to mess everything up halfway in to the drama. I hate when drama’s start of SO STRONG and good. Only to lose my interest half way in. It makes me so sad, because i started off liking the drama but then i don’t want to how its going to end. After the halfway point. LOL do you know what i mean or did i totally confuse you. :).
You are not ranting on! it would be ranting on, if i didn’t like listening but im loving our conversations lol we both just have a lot to say haha maybe we should have a live chat thingy on here.
maybe when I’m working (means I’ll have more money!^^)I’ll have the chance to meet them 😀 or maybe next year? who knows? 😛 pray for me!!
don’t worry, I get what you’re trying to say 🙂 when an extremely good start makes a 180 degree turn in the middle, that’s far more frustrating. but it somehow depends on who are the actors and actresses are. if they’re my favorite, then I’ll just swallow everything and hang on till the end. at least I get to see their faces 🙂

Honestly got to say Lee Si Young’s acting is what got me hooked! I love it. So different form her other roles from like BOF or playfull kiss etc. Was expecting it to be so much fun to watch. I definitely thinks she needs to change hair tho lol! Yes, I def have to many drama’s on my plate. Very soon I will need to take a break since its still the beginning of the new school semester. I don’t want to fall behind. .
hahaha I was quite hesitant to watch at first because of LSY’s hair (I miss her pretty long hair!!) but after I watched it, I totally forgot about the hair because I was busy laughing 😀 but it fits her tomboyish character very well and she looks like a cute little boy! I think she has so much fun filming it, partly because her character is so quirky! hmmm..I also need to score this semester and going to work harder! study!..and then watch dramas. hihi~

Why did I only discover your blog just now? I mean, world, why? Your blog is so awesome and you even do recaps for Vampire Idol! The moment my last exam is done, I will be reading your recaps. And I get your self description! I react at everything and very much at that but I can’t translate them to blog posts. I’m not a writer, sigh.
